In-Home Cat Sitter

Your Cat Doesn’t Need to Leave Home Just Because You Do

In-Home Cat Sitting in Portland

Some cats feel safest in their own home. For sensitive, routine-oriented, or medically complex cats, travel and unfamiliar environments can cause significant stress. In-home cat sitting in Portland allows your cat to remain in their familiar surroundings while still receiving attentive, professional care.

With Cats in the City’s professional cat sitting service, your feline companion stays in the comfort of home while our trained caregivers provide feeding, enrichment, health observation, and companionship. Whether you are traveling, working long hours, or managing an emergency, our team ensures your cat remains comfortable, safe, and well cared for.

Professional Cat Sitting in Portland

Cats in the City is a feline-focused care provider serving Portland and surrounding areas. Our team is composed of trained professionals who specialize in understanding feline behavior, health signals, and environmental needs. We approach cat sitting with the same attention to detail and observational care used in our clinical grooming and boarding programs.

Our team includes professionals with experience in:

  • Feline behavior and body language — recognizing stress signals, environmental preferences, and comfort needs.
  • Professional cat grooming and coat assessment — allowing early detection of coat, skin, or mobility concerns.
  • Veterinary support skills — including medication administration and health monitoring.
  • Foster and rescue care — supporting cats with medical conditions, senior needs, or behavioral sensitivities.

This level of training allows us to provide observant, informed, and responsive in-home cat care, not just a quick visit.

Trusted, Insured, and Professionally Accountable

Cats in the City is a professional feline care company serving Portland cat guardians who want experienced, responsible caregivers entering their home. Our cat sitters are trained, insured, and committed to maintaining the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of every cat in our care.

Calm Care, Comfort, and Small Joyful Rituals

Cat sitting is about more than food and litter. It is about protecting routine, preserving comfort, and maintaining the small daily rituals that help cats feel safe while their guardian is away. That may mean brushing, play, quiet companionship, window time, or a little catnip—we meet each cat where they are.

Even something simple can become a meaningful moment of connection. During each visit, we observe appetite, mood, energy, comfort, and engagement because the small details matter in professional feline care.

How Cats in the City Is Different From Traditional Pet Sitting

Most pet sitting services are built around brief visits and basic checklists. Cats in the City’s Portland cat sitting service is different. Our in-home feline care is structured around routine, behavior, wellness observation, and continuity—because cats are not generic pets, and their care should not be treated that way.

Traditional Pet Sitting

  • Quick food, water, and litter service
  • Random sitter assignment or gig-based staffing
  • Limited medical or behavioral knowledge
  • Minimal communication while you travel
  • No structured tracking of health, behavior, or comfort changes

Cats in the City In-Home Cat Sitting

  • Daily enrichment, wellness observation, and calm companionship
  • Consistent, trained, bonded sitter for continuity of care
  • Team includes feline care professionals and behavior-informed staff
  • Detailed updates with photos and meaningful wellness notes
  • Structured support for medications, fluids, senior cats, and anxiety-sensitive cats

We do more than stop by. We provide thoughtful, feline-specific in-home cat care designed to support comfort, stability, and trust while you are away. Better Care for Cats™ starts right at home.
